I finally REACHED the end!

I am embarrassed to admit that it took me one, two, maybe three years to finally read this book.  With the help of my 2016 book challenge and the motivation of my lovely student, Sam Wentworth, I finally finished this book.

I loved every moment of this book which is why it is so strange that it took me this long to read. Quite possibly, it was because I don't love reading books in a series.  Or, it may have been because I was tired of dystopian novels.  Either way, don't let my hesitation of reading this book to hinder your aspirations.

Cassia, Ky, and Xander are back to take on the world, the plague, and their hearts.

Jesse's Girl or Maya's Boy?

I was so excited to see another book in the Hundred Oaks series.  Although I am normally not a fan of book series, I just can't get enough of Miranda Kenneally and her stories.

Maya is just a normal girl who dreams of being a musician, and Jesse is a musical celebrity who dreams of being a normal boy.  Thanks to a senior shadow day, Jesse and Maya spend the day seeking each other's dreams.

I loved this book for many reasons:  Sam and Jordan return (Catching Jordan fans), Maya is more than lovable, and Jesse shows us that not all lifestyles are as glamorous as they seem.

Three Wishes

It's fun to see the cover of this book because I listened to this book instead of reading it.  Thanks to my subscription to Audible, I enjoyed every hour of this novel especially on the five hour drive to California. Thanks to an accident, I got an extra two hours of listening time and a completed book!

Being a triplet can't be easy, but it is guaranteed to come with great laughs, tears, and stories.  From parents, to boyfriends, to children, to future plans, these triplets show the struggles of having three of you where every you go and what ever you do.

Liane Moriarty's humor was just as spectacular as her other books.  Although the point of view changed throughout the book, it was easily followed even in the audio book.  Just when the reader thinks the great debacle is going to be solved, another situation is created leaving the reader to only guess what might happen next.  I laughed out loud several times (in which the teenagers in the back thought was totally weird), and I still marvel at the author's great sense of humor.

Adult read - not on the RC list.

Karma Club

I guess there is some irony in the fact that I read this book over Christmas break and forgot to blog about it.  It's a Mean Girls kind of novel...

Recommended by a list of great new teen novels, I adventured through the pages.  It is your typical teen novel - great for the moment and easily forgotten afterwards.  I enjoyed reading it; however, months later, I can't tell you anything significant about it.

Thanks, Hannah, for bringing me this book to read.  After reading "The Summer" series last year, I enjoyed reading another one of Jenny Han's books.  She has a lighthearted sense of the teenage years.  Although this is a sequel, it can be read without reading the first book.

"People come in and out of your life.  For a time they are your world; they are everything.  And then one day they're not. There's no telling how long you will have them near...It's the good-byes that are hard."

A brilliant message that we all must learn at some time in our lives.
