The final Katie Parker...I thought.

I really did love the second book in this series, so I was much more eager to read the third book.  Katie's past has come back to haunt her just when her life is back on track.  She realizes that she will graduate from high school, can go to college, and can make friends.  Then, her mom walks back into her life.  Will it be the happy ever after reunion, or will it be chaos?  By the way, Tate, a new character, is just what the doctor ordered. :)

In the end, I find out that there is a fourth book. What will I do?

Katie Parker is back...

I finally started reading the second book in the series.  I wasn't too eager to get start reading it as I liked the first book, but I didn't love it.  This book was much better than the first, however.  Katie has settled in to her new foster home, and Maxine is back and crazier than ever.  How many times can Katie get grounded for her grandmother's mishaps?

Right of Way

Product Details

I really did love Two Way Street, so I decided to read another Lauren Barnholdt novel.  Once again, another girly book that keeps the reader entertained. Don't expect a life changing lesson, but the book has some humor, conflict, and characters that are interesting.  Plus, who doesn't love the idea of a road trip?

Peyton is off to a wedding in which her ex-boyfriend will also be attending.  Perhaps it will be a glorious reunion where all the unanswered questions will be answered, or perhaps it will be a nightmare.  Either way, it's guaranteed to be entertaining...road trip style.

In Between

Thanks to Microsoft and a generous DonorsChoose.org donation, I was able to purchase about 30 books for my classroom.  Of course, that means that I have to read them (which I enjoy) and make RC tests (which I only enjoy when my students actually read the book).  Amazon recommended this series to me.  Thanks, Amazon.

Katie Parker seems like the average teen girl - you know...addict mother who goes to prison, so she is sent to a group home then a foster home.  In retaliation of her new placement with the town's preacher, she finds the wrong crowd and gets into a little bit of trouble at school.  The characters in this novel make the story - Maxine, the foster grandmother is crazy and devious.  She adds humor and humiliation to the book.  The Scott's - foster parents - show kindness, acceptance, and strength through all of life's difficulties.

It wasn't one of my favorite teen novels, but it has a great purpose and keeps the reader involved.  It has a religious base without being preaching.
